Chief Justice Beasley Extends Emergency Directives 18 and 20

Industry News,

On last Friday, Chief Justice Beasley extended Emergency Directive 18 for an additional 30 days. This directive requires that an affidavit be filed in residential evictions to confirm compliance with the federal Cares Act. Although the moratorium will end, several provisions of the CARES Act will apply beyond its expiration. By law, emergency directives issued by the Chief Justice expire every 30 days unless renewed.
