Marsh Properties to Receive GCAA President's Circle Honors

The Greater Charlotte Apartment Association (GCAA) is proud to announce Marsh Properties as the recipient of its 2026 President's Circle Honors Award. The Association will present this distinguished recognition at a luncheon on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at The Ruth by Beau Monde, celebrating a legacy dating back to the organization's founding.

In 1977, Lex Marsh of Marsh Properties helped launch what was then known as the Charlotte Apartment Association, creating a platform for multifamily housing professionals to connect, collaborate, and advance the industry together. What began as a vision for a more unified professional community has evolved into the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association, an organization whose influence now extends across the region's multifamily housing landscape. Nearly five decades later, that original vision continues to resonate through the relationships, educational opportunities, industry advocacy, and professional development that define the Association today.

The recognition carries special significance as GCAA was recently named the National Apartment Association's State/Metro Affiliate of the Year and prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027. Honoring Marsh Properties (Jamie McLawhorn, current Marsh Properties President, accepting the award) during this milestone moment creates a meaningful connection between the Association's founding and its future, recognizing not only the leadership that helped establish the organization, but also the enduring value of the community it created.

As the Association looks ahead to its Golden Anniversary, the November 19 event will celebrate Marsh Properties and honor the spirit of collaboration that has sustained GCAA for nearly half a century.
