NMHC 2023 Rent Control Outlook

Rent control was again a fixture across state legislatures, city, and county councils and at the ballot box this year. Following the 2022 midterm elections, the 2023 landscape is perhaps more promising for rent control proponents and those who incorrectly believe the approach is a workable solution to housing affordability challenges.
