GCAA Members Appointed to New Metropolitan Transit Authority

Industry News,
GCAA Members Appointed to New Metropolitan Transit Authority
With the successful passage of the transit sales tax referendum on November 4th, Charlotte and Mecklenburg County have taken a major step toward strengthening the region’s long-term mobility, economic competitiveness, and quality of life. A key component of this voter-approved initiative is the creation of a new Metropolitan Transit Authority, the governing body that will oversee implementation of the expanded transit system and guide investments made possible by the new revenue stream.

GCAA is proud to share that two leaders from our membership have been selected to serve on this newly formed Board:
  • Todd Collins (HomeTrustee / Red Hill Ventures)
  • Wyatt Dixon (Proffitt Dixon Partners)
Their appointment reflects the critical role the multifamily housing industry plays in supporting a thriving, well-connected region. Reliable and efficient transit is essential for residents across Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, connecting people to jobs, education, healthcare, and the broader amenities that make our communities vibrant and competitive. As our region continues to grow, transit accessibility remains a key factor in housing demand, resident satisfaction, and equitable access to opportunity.
GCAA proudly supported the transit referendum and remains committed to engaging in the implementation process. We look forward to working with regional partners and supporting the new Metropolitan Transit Authority as it begins its work. Todd and Wyatt’s leadership will bring valuable perspective to this next chapter, ensuring the voices of our industry are included in shaping Charlotte’s future mobility network.
We congratulate both of them and appreciate their continued service to our region.
