Fannie Mae Expanded Housing Choice Program

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) wants to provide greater access of available housing to voucher holders who are able to secure housing. In April of this year, Fannie Mae announced an Expanded Housing Choice initiative, which provides new pricing incentives for Texas and North Carolina multifamily property owners who accept HUD Housing Choice Vouchers. Charlotte is one of three cities where Fannie Mae is piloting the program to offer lower financing to developers and landlords of rental properties who agree to take people using vouchers.
