SB 36: 2020 COVID Relief Bill Modifications

AANC continues to meet with lawmakers and secure bill sponsors for our legislative priorities. Last week lawmakers worked to pass the first COVID relief bill of the session: SB 36: 2020 COVID Relief Bill Modifications was introduced and passed both chambers this week, it is now awaiting signature from the Governor.

This bill includes, among many other provisions, for the allocation of $546 million for emergency rental and utility assistance and an increase of funding ($37 million) for small businesses through Golden LEAF. It also extends deadlines for funds disbursement and corrects some challenges with previous COVID relief measures. for emergency and utility rental assistance to North Carolina office Recovery and Resiliency.  Click the link above to review the full bill.
