Multifamily Leaders Share Lessons in BTR Sector

Multifamily developers continue to dive into the hot single-family build-to-rent (BTR) sector, citing that the demand drivers and operations are similar to traditional apartment communities. However, speakers on the “Tracking the Build-to-Rent Evolution” panel - moderated by Kimberly Byrum, managing principal, multifamily, at Zonda - at the MFE Leadership Summit in early March cautioned that there are challenges to overcome with purpose-built single-family rental communities, with the sector still somewhat in its infancy.
