Charlotte Water (CLTWater) to Resume Plan Review in WSACC Basins

Posted By: Michelle Manns Industry News,

Last fall, CLTWater paused development related services in basins draining to the WSACC plant where the maximum limit had been reached for permitted sewer flow to the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) system. It had no additional treatment capacity in that system. This resulted in a significant impact to some development projects.

CLTWater has announced that on August 1, 2022 it plans to resume early-stage land development services for developer-donated projects and service connections through the normal processes up to the point of issuing approval of permits. However, CLTWater will not issue capacity. CLTWater and WSACC capital projects that will provide future capacity are in progress. When additional capacity is available and able to be issued to development projects, CLTWater will notify customers. For more details regarding the review process plan and FAQs, click here.
