Event Details

We're excited to present an interactive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) workshop for all our members!

Learn how to elevate your DEI understanding, why diversity matters and how to implement a DEI strategy within your own organization. We'll also have the opportunity to hear from key players in the Charlotte market, as they discuss DEI initiatives implemented within their companies.

Come join us, to discuss various DEI topics and become comfortable navigating the space.

The purpose of the GCAA DEI Committee is to be a strong advocate for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in all aspects of the apartment industry in the greater Charlotte area, to provide training and leadership on diversity, and to promote awareness of best practice policies and procedures that will align with these objectives. The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee is dedicated to the work of increasing access and opportunity for underrepresented populations in the apartment industry. 

Meet Our 2022 DEI Committee Co-Chairs

 

Eddie Robertson, RediCarpet, serves as Senior Account Manager for Redi Carpet, a national multifamily flooring company. His responsibilities include developing new business and managing existing accounts. Eddie brings 23 years of sales, management and major account management experience in a variety of industries. Prior to joining Redi Carpet, Eddie spent eight years as an Assistant Vice President with AFCO Credit Corporation where he oversaw a sales territory located in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington DC. Eddie has served on the both the Next Gen Committee and Products & Services Council and has been a dedicated supporter of GCAA since coming into the industry. Eddie holds a BA in Psychology from The University of Virginia where he also played football. A native of High Point, NC, Eddie and his wife, Brandi, have two daughters ages 13 and 14. When he he has spare time, Eddie enjoys hunting, volunteering at his church, traveling with family and friends and watching his daughters play basketball.

   

Liz Newkirk, Loebsack & Brownlee, (she/her) currently serves as Manager of Digital  Media at Loebsack & Brownlee, PLLC,  based in Charlotte, NC.

Originally from Atlanta, GA, Liz has a background in digital marketing and analytics, content creation, leasing, and overseeing the execution and design of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategies.

Liz obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Johnson C. Smith University and has multiple certifications. In 2021, Elizabeth received her Organizational Culture and Diversity certification Legal Environment certification, both from Arizona State University. A DEI certification from the University of South Florida. In 2020, she obtained a Social Media and Digital Marketing certificate from Clemson University, and currently, Liz is pursuing a Fostering Inclusion and Diversity Certification from Yale School of Management.

Her leadership roles include serving as Co-Chair of the GCAA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and 2022 GCAA PSC Secretary.
