City of Charlotte Appoints Ad Hoc Committee to Study the Source of Income Discrimination Issue

Charlotte’s City Council voted to appoint an ad hoc committee to study the Source of Income Discrimination (SOID) issue and provide recommendations to City Council by the end of this year. At the heart of the issue, is the housing choice voucher (HCV/Section 8) program and the inability of voucher holders to secure rental housing over the past few years because of the voluntary nature of program participation for landlords.

On last week, the Committee members were appointed. The names of the Committee members are below. GCAA’s Kim Graham was appointed co-chair of the Committee along with Mark Ethridge of Ascent Real Estate Capital.
