"Evicted" Author to Come to Charlotte

Author, Matthew Desmond will discuss his Pulitzer Prize winning book, “Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City”  in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC, September 20, 2017-Author Matthew Desmond will discuss his Pulitzer Prize winning book, “Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City” at 6:30 PM on September 27th at Spirit Square in Uptown Charlotte. The Public Presentation will also include a panel discussion featuring some of Charlotte’s leading experts on the causes and consequences of residential evictions.

The lecture sold out within an hour to the general public. The Discussion is sponsored by the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association, the Homeless Services Network of Charlotte-Mecklenburg, the Urban Land Institute – Charlotte Chapter, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Foundation for the Carolinas, United Way of Central Carolinas, the UNC-Charlotte Urban Institute, the Knight Foundation, and Center for The Living City.
