“Fair Housing and Beyond” is the result of an exciting collaboration between the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and the National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI) to address the need for comprehensive fair housing training in the residential real estate management industry.

This ground-breaking 4.5 hour seminar for executives, managers, leasing and maintenance personnel, and vendors sets a new standard in fair housing training by:

  • Using DVD-delivered scenarios to demonstrate how real-life situations require critical thinking and prudent decision making
  • Vividly showing the serious consequences of incorrect responses and providing coaching on how to avoid costly mistakes
  • Delivering relevant knowledge of fair housing essentials – practical explanations of how federal, state, and local protected classes and barred discriminatory acts impact property operations

tami-fossum-12-07Seminar Facilitator Tami Fossum brings 19 years of property management experience, currently serving as a Regional Asset Manager for Blue Ridge Property Management. Tami hosts both her CAPS and Housing Credit Certified Professional designations. She has held her Real Estate and Notary Licenses since 1995 and received her ARM designation in 1994. Tami currently serves as President of the GCAA and has previously served on the Seminars, Education, Membership, and Operations Committees. In 2005, Tami received the GCAA’s prestigious Volunteer of the Year Award  for exemplary service. In 2007, she received the association’s Instructor of the Year Award.  In 2008, Tami received the highest honor by being named Professional Designate of the Year by the National Apartment Association.
