The GCAA Green Committee has partnered with Mecklenburg County to promote its “Re-Learn” RECYCLING Program. Through this program, GCAA members can receive flyers, door hangers, posters, and newsletter articles to help inform and motivate residents about the many ways to live sustainably. These tools are free of charge and allow you to customize the posters, door hangers, and/or flyers with your community's logo!

The following list of the most popular "Green" strategies used by apartment owners came from a national survey of 249 apartment executives by J. Turner Research:
Going Green: A Multifamily "Top Five" List
1. Installed low-flow shower heads and toilets 75%
2. Installed compact fluorescent light bulbs 73%
3. Installed aerators on all faucets 66%
4. Implemented recycling program 55%
5. Implemented sub metering system 52%
